Dr. Mack Boyd is a native of Navarro County, Texas and graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 1983. He has been in mixed practice in Ennis, Texas since 1987. His current practice focuses on canine and feline surgery and medicine. He and his wife Molly have been married since 1985 and have 2 kids and 2 perfect grandchildren. In his spare time, he manages their 500-acre family farm, where they have about 100 head of Angus/Brangus cows. Dr. Boyd enjoys photography, hunting, fishing and volunteering annually as a trail veterinarian for the Iditarod Sled Dog race in Alaska. For many years he has enjoyed sharing his veterinary skills and knowledge with impoverished people around the world through Christian Veterinary Mission short-term trips.
Born in the Texas panhandle and raised in Ranger,TX, Dr Zollinger graduated with his bachelor degree in Biology from Sul Ross State University before heading to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Zollinger Graduated with his Doctorate in 2003 and headed to Ennis as an associate veterinarian with Dr Chancellor and Dr Boyd. Dr Zollinger left in 2007 to pursue a career in small animal medicine. He returned to Ennis Veterinary Clinic as a full partner in 2020. Dr Zollinger and his amazing wife Alison have two sets of twins, Amy and Cooper, and Ellie and Zoe.
Dr. Diane Clarke, an Auburn University alumna, boasts a rich career spanning large and small animal medicine across three countries —Australia, Canada, and the USA—where she has exhibited a keen focus on dentistry and dermatology. Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Clarke nurtures a bustling family life with her husband and three married children scattered between Canada and the USA. Together with her husband, she shares a home in Waxahachie, where they find joy in the companionship of their three beloved rescue dogs: Winnie, a lovable yellow Lab, and Duke & Deacon, high-energy Australian Shepherds, each adding their own vibrant dynamic to their household.
Dr. Mike Dunavant was reared on a cotton farm near Lubbock, Texas. Today, Dr. Mike, his wife Judy and their Miniature Australian Shepherd, Toby live in Corsicana Texas. Dr. Mike is a graduate of College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Over the years he has cared for large and small animals in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Vietnam, Colorado, Texas and elsewhere. Dr. Mike got his master's degree in 1970 at Colorado State University studying Clinical Pathology which includes laboratory tests and making diagnosis and treatment more accurate and effective. So why has Dr. Mike done this for 55+ years? He loves the animals; He loves the owners and he gets paid for doing what he loves. What a deal!
Dr. Courtney Wade grew up in Benbrook, Texas near Ft. Worth. She attended The University of North Texas where she graduated with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She attended Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her DVM degree in 2005. While at Texas A&M, Dr. Wade received the Gentle Doctor Award during her 4th year, recognizing her gentle nature with animals. Dr. Wade's primary practice interest are small animal medicine and surgery. She loves to spend time with her three kids and all her animals. She has a full house with her dog Otis, her cat Chicken, a hedgehog Uganda, and her two ferrets Dipstick and Oscar.
Dr. Gary Wilson grew up in Dallas, Texas. He attended “The University'' in College Station, Texas receiving a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Science in 1972. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Texas A&M University in 1975. Dr. Wilson’s practice interest is primarily medicine and surgery of canines and felines. He is married to his wife Cheri and they have a combined family of 3 sons and 2 daughters. They have also been blessed with 12 grandchildren. He joined the staff at Ennis Veterinary Clinic full time on July 11, 2006 after owning 2 animal hospitals in the Houston area.
Ashley Lumpkin started with the Ennis Veterinary Clinic in 2017 as a volunteer high school student. She graduated from The Cedar Valley Veterinary Technology program in 2023 and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Here she is with her two fur-kids Nova the Husky and Annie the Chihuahua, and she also has a loving Bearded Dragon, Peaches, at home.
Suzanne has brought her passion for animals and hometown pride to Ennis Vet Clinic since January 2022. A lifelong resident of Ennis, Suzanne holds degrees from Ennis High School and Navarro College. Her love for animals shines through in her role, where she finds joy in caring for pets and interacting with the community. Outside of work, Suzanne cherishes moments with family, enjoys concerts, shopping, and showers affection on her beloved cat, Little Bit Billy pictured here.
Cathy Johnson is likely one of the first people you meet when you come to Ennis Veterinary Clinic. She has been a receptionist here since 1995. She and her husband Donel have 4 children, and 4 grandchildren. They have 4 horses and 4 cows. Cathy loves animals and loves working in the family atmosphere of Ennis Veterinary Clinic.
Karen McMillan is a LVT and graduate of Cedar Valley College. She joined Ennis Veterinary Clinic in August 1998. Karen has 30+ years of veterinary technician experience. Over her career she has worked in small and large animal practices and also has experience with exotic animals and in emergency hospitals. She is the proud owner of horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and chinchillas! She says that the creatures she loves the most are her husband William, their 4 children, and her sweet grand baby. She is shown here with Trouble and Ceaser.
Cindy received her LVT from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology, followed by an externship in the veterinary department of Colorado State University May of 1977. Then headed for Texas! She worked in a mixed veterinary practice and for the UT Health Science Center before being asked to teach for the Cedar Valley College Veterinary Technology program. After 17 years teaching in the Vet Tech program and another 13 years in the Science Department, she was able to retire and return to her passion as a LVT here at Ennis Veterinary Clinic. Melinda grew up in Ennis and has been an LVT since 2005. She joined the Ennis Vet Clinic team in 2001, she has played an integral role ever since, nurturing countless furry patients back to health. In 2017, Melinda married her husband Chris, and together they share a home filled with love and their dogs, Groot, Rocket, Cookie and Foxy. With her unwavering dedication to her profession and vibrant spirit, Melinda embodies the perfect balance of professionalism, passion, and playfulness.
Rachele has worked at the Ennis Vet Clinic since 2021. She started working in the veterinary field at 22 years old as a receptionist. She really wanted to be a technician, asked to cross train, and never looked back! She continues learning everyday and loves what she does. She has been in this field for almost a decade and can't imagine doing anything else! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, going off-roading, and painting.
Myranda Williams is a lifelong resident of Ellis County. Myranda has always had a deep love for animals that guided her towards a rewarding path to receive her LVT – a journey of over ten years now. Along with her passion for animals Myranda enjoys spending quality time with family, being in the great outdoors, gardening, of course spoiling her own fur babies, and going to the gym!
Lauren is a vet tech that started in 2016. She is passionate about animals and has a farm at home with goats, chickens, cows, ducks, turkeys, cats, dogs, and a snake. She loves the breed of huskies and has 3 named Skyler, Savage, and Kato.
Annette Hornik has been an integral part of the daily operations of the Ennis Vet clinic since 1983. Annette and her husband Robert of 46 years now, raise cattle, have a zebra, a minature Australian Sheapard &
Zsa Zsa, their cat!
Meghan is an LVT who began her career at Ennis Veterinary Clinic in 2020. After graduating from Cedar Valley College in 2021, and with much encouragement from her co-workers, proceeded to get her LVT in 2022. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their puppy Daisy! She loves all the fur-babies, and can't wait to meet yours!
Roxanne Martin, a Palmer Texas native, has worked with The Ennis Veterinary Clinic for more than 43 years and was one of two staff employees in addition to the two doctors at that time. Roxanne enjoys life with her husband Kelly, her grandkids, and cat named Smoke.
